The ISBA and Catina will be enpty this season
Some shocking news just came across my desk. Apparently Skival's chalet hotel ISBA and Skiworlds chalet hotel Catina will no longer be available this 09-10 season.

Looking at both of their respective website every week is listed as no longer available.

Despite the quote on SKIVAL's site "HOT OFF THE PRESS - ISBA RECESSION REPRIEVE SO FOR CREDIT CRUNCH BUSTING DEALS, LOOK NO FURTHER!!!!

Well, we thought it all over but it isn't now!. Courtesy of the current economic situation the Isba redevelopment is on hold and we have secured it for another season.
    "
But on the same page all the weeks of the season are listed as unavailable.

Staff who were going out to work there have already been informed of their transfer to other resorts with the following quote "We have very recently found out that we will not be able to operate the Isba after all this winter. Due to a combination of reasons, mainly local resort politics and compliancy issues, the owner of the Isba and Catina has decided to shut the buildings and they will simply be boarded up until redevelopment at a later date"

If this is the case It will also proabably mean the end of the ISBA bar (and the infamous pool table) and TJs bar below the Catina.

Not only is this terrible news for seasonnaires (two less bars to drink at) but also another blow for the Courchevel lift operators, restaurants and ski hire shops. The lift office alone are estimated to lose over half a million euros lift pass revenue from these two properties.

    Alex, the editor.
