With the possibility of following the endless winter format and skiing in every month in Europe Val dâIsere opened their non-glacier slope on June 3rd. I believe this is the first time in a very long time. After a very early start from Courchevel we got to Val dâIsere at 6.30 and caught the first funicular up the mountain. Although the ski area was limited and the condition of the snow was adequate it was well worth spending the morning there and by 1100 we called it a day. Only another few weeks before Tignes opens their glacier and the mountains call again.
