Deep and Crisp and Even.

IT SNOWING!!! (Insert cheers here). Last night while driving back from Hoops' firework display, were you will be glad to hear Simon suffered only minor injuries while controlling the pyrotechnics, encountered a couple of inches of fresh/falling snow covering the roads above 1650. Even with a 4x4, albeit with summer tyres, encountered a few hairy moments on the bends leading to 1850. With 2 more days of snow forecast it's a good omen for the season.

What's happening with the Catina, TJs and ISBA?

More CowbellAfter returning to Courchevel i have heard what is going to happen to the Catina, TJs and ISBA this winter. The Catina is being turned into a 2* hotel called The Paddock (as in horses) by Monsieur Tournier, where you can stay for about 90 euros a night (room only). Anyone who ever stayed in the Shitina (to give it it's proper English seasonnaire name) will know that with it's history of unreliable services, those little things like hot water were sometimes absent, it should really have been knocked down years ago. Tournier for those who don't now is a Courchevel local who if the resort was a Monopoly board would own most of the properties and have several hotels on most of them.
TJ's is being re-opened and renamed to L'Equipe, making it the third such bar in the last decade to carry this name. (nothing like originality)
Finally the ISBA, not being suitable for paying guests, is being turned into staff accommodation.
