Dark Horses
But it was the relatively unknown and ironically named team of Powderwhite to make it to the final. Ironic because it contained only 1 member of the company. It should have really been called Ski Higher team 4 plus a Powerwhite manager. Enough of these trifling Symantecs though. Thanks to the excellent, almost symbiotic, team work of Dan(Ski Higher) and his brothers. They swept Supertravelís Joe and his Biatches aside in the first round, convincingly beat Team Heineken 3-0, New Gen 2-0 and (highest placed 2nd round losers) Scott Dunnís Nothings too much trouble 2-0.
The Final Unfortunately their run of victories ended in the final when they met the Magic Mushrooms. The final score of 2-0 doesnít do justice to just how close the game really was. From some excellent goal keeping from Vikki to some valiant attacking plays from the boys the ball just wouldnít find the back of the mushrooms goal. As a spectator it was almost painful watching consecutive shots rebound off the edge of the goal. It could have so easily ended a tied match.
A final thought I donít know what it is about the atmosphere of an ice rink but as soon as some people step on the ice their personality completely changes.
Normally Lorelli(Scott Dunn) while donning her black work jacket is the picture of sweet Gallic niceness but put a broom in her hand and an opponent between her and a kids football and all of a sudden you have a highly competitive fire breathing bundle of elbows who would put Tonya Harding to shame.
