Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona
After a month in the UK I've finally got bored with life at sea level and returned to a much greener Courchevel 1850. Leaving Calais at 4am and arriving in resort at 3.30pm is a trip that is not recommended especially with only 1.5 hours sleep even with ample stops for coffee and copious amounts of red bull.
The hum of the ski lifts has been replaced by that of the building cranes that have sprung up around resort. Unlike last year their numbers have been greatly reduced from about 11 last season to only 3. Obviously honest Pierres crane hire is suffering from the recession as well.
The building behind the tourist office which housed the drougerie has finally been demolished and at long last is being redeveloped. The apartment block Soleil Levant behind the Rond Point hotel is receiving a much needed face lift and possibly a new floor/roof.
The most notable absence of any building work is the MGM Padisha complex at the entrance to 1850. At this rate I would bet short odds that it's not finished by next winter.

Finally if anyone is wondering why we have an old Italian sports car at the top of the page it's because while driving up the hill yesterday I passed a variety of classic cars on a rally and to be fair it looks better than a generic photo of the mountains in the summer.

More Cowbell No More Cowbell !
Maybe I'm being picky but currently my idylic silence of the mountains is being interupted by the constantly clang of the cowbell coming from a herd grazing on the piste opposite.
I could understand that bells are needed if they were roaming free but when they are surronded by electric fences do they really need a device around their necks to draw attention to themselves "look at me I'm a large bovine"?
This is quite ironic as I'm a great fan of classic "More cowbell" Saturday Night Live comedy sketch. Those of you unfamilar should check this out here. In my opinion it's Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken comedy gold.
