When you don’t do any (hard) work for 51 weeks of year the remaining week can really take it out of you. Getting up in the morning before the sun has risen, fight your way through early morning London traffic. Spending your lunchtime finding a quiet corner to devour your lunch. Getting home when it’s dark just in time to eat something, have a shower and fall asleep. Wait a second It reminds me of something I used to do everyday in a period that will be know by historians as BS (Before Seasons).

Anyway for the past week I have been slaving over a variety of eye protection for Snow and Rock at the total perspective ski show at Olympia. Those who are not familiar with HHGTTG reference will not get the joke and to be fair I’m not going to waste a paragraph explaining. Listen to the radio show it available on itunes.

Anyway judging by the number of people who came up to me and said hello I am truly the centre of the ski universe. People from last season, people from Courchevel, people who had got married since last year, people who I haven’t seen in a decade, Show organisers, Ski club girls, People who were just about to do their first season and avidly read this newsletter. Basically there was Snow and Rock, Ellis Brigham, the Trespass big air jump and Alex.

But enough about my ego. There were of course some other people there too. Some very hospitable coffee serving Austrians from Zillertal. Two girls working for Monster drinks wearing very little. The men with the huskies were very popular with ladies. and a creepy knitting granny on a beanie stand. I’m sure I heard “No G&T until you’ve made 10”.
